Course Name MED364 - Cardiovascular System
Course Description
This is an interdisciplinary integrated module of the cardiovascular system. The basic sciences of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology of the cardiovascular system are correlated with a set of clinical disorders of the system. The goal of this integrated course is to provide medical students with comprehensive knowledge about components of the cardiovascular system related to clinical manifestations of diseases. The teaching methods include lectures, laboratories, as well as small group discussions of clinically oriented problems to enhance self-directed learning. This knowledge is supported by skills-developing laboratory activities and clinically oriented activities. Research ideas with specific embedded objectives are also included to emphasize social responsibility, evidence-based medicine, community service, and innovative thinking.
