Course Description
This course offers an introductory understanding of the operating theater environment and its preparation. It provides the necessary knowledge for conducting preoperative assessments and utilizing basic investigative techniques in this process. Consequently, the course serves as a foundational precursor to more advanced investigation courses. Key components include documenting the conditions requiring surgery, assessing the patient's overall health status, identifying hidden conditions that may pose risks during or after surgery, determining perioperative risks, optimizing the patient's medical condition to minimize surgical and anesthetic complications, devising an appropriate perioperative care plan, educating patients about surgery, anesthesia, intraoperative care, and postoperative pain management to alleviate anxiety and promote recovery. Furthermore, the course aims to reduce costs, shorten hospital stays, decrease cancellations, and enhance patient satisfaction.
