Research is an important part of the health policy process. This course serves as an introduction to how to ethically do research commonly used in healthcare management science. This course aims to provide students with basic scientific research skills. It introduces research methods and their application across healthcare areas. It prepares students to conduct ethically
sound and scientifically valid healthcare research. These include determining the research problem, data collection, research design, data analysis, and writing the final report. Students will become familiar with the concepts, methods, and applications of research and evaluation; learn how to critically consume research; and propose an appropriate research project to inform
an important policy issue.
