This course is intended for students of the graduate program in Medical Laboratory Sciences. The course is designed to provide the students with advanced level knowledge and experience in haematopathological disorders and the major theme of the course is directed towards malignant disorders of blood cells. The course introduces the student to advanced concepts, knowledge and principles in the molecular and biochemical pathogenicity of malignant diseases and the clinical outcomes and prognostic features of these diseases. The laboratory diagnostic and prognostic approaches will be emphasized to provide the student with advanced techniques that aid in accurate and reliable diagnosis and prognosis of the disease. This includes flow cytometry, cytogenetic and epigenetic analysis ? etc. Students will be also familiarized with the quality control and quality assurance measures that are implemented to achieve sufficient management of diagnostic laboratories.
