This course exposes students to health information technologies. It covers the fundamentals of healthcare industry and delivery. It also exposes students to different types of information systems implemented by healthcare facilities. Students learn the driving forces of adopting health information technologies; such as medical errors, cost, and access to healthcare. The course will allow students to develop an understanding of the role of information technologies in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.
