This course focuses on the aerodynamic principles specifically relevant to the design and flight of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Students will gain a deep understanding of how aerodynamic forces and moments act on UAVs of various configurations (fixed-wing, rotary-wing, hybrid). The course will cover fundamental aerodynamic concepts, including airfoils, wings, propellers, rotors, and aerodynamic forces and moments. Students will learn about the impact of different flight conditions (speed, altitude, angle of attack) on UAV performance. Advanced topics may include computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for UAV design, aerodynamic stability and control, and the effects of atmospheric conditions on UAV flight.
