This laboratory course focuses on the practical aspects of integrating and operating various payloads on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Students will gain hands-on experience in: Payload Selection and Integration, Identifying appropriate payloads for specific UAV missions (e.g., cameras, sensors, LiDAR, communication relays), Understanding payload interfaces and compatibility with different UAV platforms, Designing and implementing payload integration solutions, including mounting mechanisms, power systems, and data acquisition systems, Troubleshooting integration challenges and optimizing payload performance, Payload Operation and Data Acquisition, Planning and executing flight missions with integrated payloads, Operating ground control stations and flight planning software, Collecting and managing flight data from various payload sources, Post-processing and analyzing collected data using relevant software tools, Safety and Regulations, Understanding and adhering to relevant aviation regulations and safety protocols for UAV operations with payloads, Implementing safety measures for payload integration and operation, and Conducting pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
