This course equips PhD students in Clinical Pharmacy with the knowledge and skills to conduct systematic reviews and meta-analyses, one of the most valuable forms of research synthesis. Through a combination of lectures and workshops, students will learn how to formulate review questions, design and register protocols, perform comprehensive literature searches, select and extract data, assess the risk of bias, and apply statistical methods for meta-analysis. Special emphasis is placed on bias assessment, metabias minimization, and transparent interpretation of results to ensure rigor and reproducibility. The course highlights both the principles and practices of systematic reviews and meta-analyses, addressing unexpected challenges, reporting standards, and opportunities for future research using these methods.
