The course focuses on nursing care of children and families experiencing both acute and chronic illness/disabilities. The course is developed to build competencies of general nurses to become advanced/specialized paediatric nurses in acute and chronic settings. Nurses will expect to develop, implement evidenced-based interventions, and evaluate patient care in paediatric medical and surgical conditions. Nurses are also required to function within the inter-professional team to deliver safe, competent and compassionate care.
