This course focuses on the development of student competencies as a clinical nurse specialist in community health. Students will integrate practice models for community-based services in providing care for individuals, families, and populations. Students will examine the role of the clinical nurse specialist in addressing the challenge of shaping the systems in which they function. Emphasis is placed on assisting students to utilize leadership and management skills in responding to the rapidly changing environment that affects community health practices and services related to local, national and international organizations. Utilization of research will help students in providing quality care for individuals, families, and populations.
