Course Description
This course focuses on the theory and concepts of midwifery management in the care of the women and their families during the prenatal period. The course also focuses on the theory and concepts of midwifery management in the care of the women, unborn babies, and their families. The course moves from normal physiological changes to pathological changes; starting with concepts of normal physiological and psychological adaptation, health promotion and maintenance, and the prevention of illnesses and accidents and then to selected health problems. Focus will also be on the development and the application of knowledge and skills necessary for the midwife in the provision of health care to women during pre and antenatal periods, unborn babies and their families. By utilizing the latest evidence based knowledge and updated clinical guidelines such as those in NICE and WHO.
