This is an advanced course, covering the first semester and is continuous with Dent 548 in the 2nd semester. It is designed to provide the final year dental students with the advanced theoretical and clinical knowledge in various disciplines of conservative dentistry including operative dentistry, endodontics and fixed prosthodontics. Students must also fulfill agreed clinical requirements in all disciplines over the academic year and manage different clinical scenarios. The first semester will include weekly lectures, in which students will be given an updated information on relevant advanced topics in the discipline of Conservative Dentistry. The practical aspect, will include managing patients needing various forms of operative treatment, Endodontic and some aspects of fixed prosthodontics. Particular emphasis will be placed on carrying out RCT using rotary instrumentation.
