Course Description
This course has only a clinical component. It is offered on the first semester of the fifth year. The students will utilize the theoretical knowledge they gained during the fourth year in this course. The students will learn to do extra- and intra-oral examination from orthodontic point of view, collect and analyse orthodontic records including dental casts, photographs and radiographs (cehalometric tracing), to build a problem list and proper diagnosis for orthodontic patients and finally come up with treatment planning for orthodontic problems. During this course the students will also execute orthodontic treatment for simple problems using removable, growth modification, and partial fixed orthodontic appliances. Students are also expected to collect full orthodontic records (one patient/group; Group: up to 4 students) to be prepared for presentation as a comprehensive case during second semester.
