This is a laboratory course designed to give students information and preclinical laboratory experience in treating pediatric patients. Teaching will be in the form of lecture, handouts and demonstration. Topics that will be covered include: patient examination, radiographic assessment and treatment planning, record keeping and referrals, aspects of restorative dentistry in primary teeth, pulp therapy in primary teeth, trauma assessment and some aspects of management in permanent anterior teeth, management of space problems in the developing dentition and removable orthodontic appliance design.
