This course is designed to bring postgraduate students to the current knowledge of medical problems relevant to the safe practice of dentistry. It will provide thorough and updated knowledge in common medical conditions, oral manifestations of systemic disorders, management of patients undergoing radio- and chemotherapy, and the management of medical emergencies in dental practice. It will also include an overview and critique of the most recent international guidelines on the dental management of patients with relevant medical problems.
