TThis is a blended course combines on-site classroom teaching with an online learning component. Students will be divided into two groups. Each week, one group should attend a face-to-face lecture while the other group should attend online lecture. Therefore, all lectures will be recorded and posted to students online. In addition to recorded lectures, online activities such as MS team meetings and discussion forms will be arranged.
This course is designed to provide the undergraduate dental technology students with the basic theoretical knowledge about the macroscopic anatomy of human teeth and the basic principles of dental occlusion. The teeth are studied individually and collectively in terms of shape, function and relation to each other. A comprehensive understanding of the material of this course is achieved through a detailed description of all surfaces of each tooth along with the comparisons between similar teeth.
This course enables students to apply the macroscopic dental anatomy necessary for the practice of dental technology. Knowledge and understanding of the material in this course will also help students to appreciate the significance of the detailed anatomy of each single tooth and how to duplicate it in wax, which is crucial for many courses in the third and fourth your, especially, Fixed Dental Prosthesis courses
This course is connected to ADS 203, which represent the practical component required to develop the students? skills in carving different teeth out of wax blocks. The practical sessions also include practicing on dental numbering systems and skills of tooth identification.
