This course is the first in a series of courses in medical nutrition therapy for students majoring in dietetics. The students should gain essential knowledge and skills regarding pathophysiology, biochemical and behavioural abnormalities, medical management, the nutrition care process including nutritional assessment and medical nutrition therapy as they relate to the various diseases and conditions in the course outline.
