Course Description
This course is designed to introduce students to techniques used in veterinary practice, mainly radiography and ultrasonography. In order to give principles of radiological theory and practice including x-ray production, equipment, radiation safety. Alternate imaging of the various body systems is discussed, and use of contrast media is considered. Interpretation of radiological images of the various body systems is discussed. This course will cover acquiring all radiographic projections and standard ultrasound examinations. Moreover, skills will be developed in the acquisition of standard CT and MR images and the physics underpinning all imaging techniques as well as interpretation of diagnostic images of small and large animals.
