This course provides bachelor-level veterinary students with a comprehensive foundation in the reproductive physiology, clinical management, and common disorders of small animals, with primary focus on the dog (Canis lupus familiaris) and cat (Felis catus). Topics span the full reproductive cycle from puberty and estrous behavior through pregnancy, parturition, neonatal care, and infertility workup.
Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical skills relevant to companion animal veterinary practice. The course includes hands-on laboratory sessions covering vaginal cytology, progesterone interpretation, whelping and queening management, and basic reproductive ultrasound orientation.
