This course provides veterinary students with practical hands-on experience and proficiency in the fundamentals of large animal surgery through engagement with real-life cases encountered in the Large Animal Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The course covers a range of surgical interventions, including but not limited to wound management and various surgical conditions affecting different body systems and organs in species such as horses, cows, sheep, goats, and camels. Special emphasis is placed on mastering the principles of aseptic technique, safe handling of surgical tools, diagnosing surgical conditions, and executing proper surgical procedures tailored to diverse animal species.
