This course provides veterinary students with practical hands-on experience and proficiency in the fundamentals of small animal surgery through engagement with real-life cases encountered in the small Animal Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The course covers a range of surgical interventions, including but not limited to wound management and various surgical conditions affecting different body systems and organs in dogs and cats. Special emphasis is placed on mastering the principles of aseptic technique, safe handling of surgical tools, diagnosing surgical conditions in dogs and cats
