This course provides advanced, supervised clinical and surgical training designed to strengthen postgraduate students' knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies in veterinary surgery. It integrates evidence-based principles with hands-on experience in the diagnosis, surgical planning, anesthesia, aseptic techniques, operative procedures, and postoperative management of small and/or large animal surgical patients. Students participate in clinical case assessment, surgical decision-making, perioperative patient care, emergency surgical management, and the interpretation of diagnostic imaging relevant to surgical conditions. Emphasis is placed on the development of advanced surgical techniques, critical thinking, ethical practice, animal welfare, biosafety, effective communication, teamwork, and lifelong learning. By the end of the course, students will be able to independently evaluate surgical cases, perform selected surgical procedures under appropriate supervision, manage perioperative complications, and apply current scientific evidence to improve surgical outcomes in veterinary practice and research.
