Line Number 722311
Course Name AMT231 - Aircraft Materials Hardware (1)
Course Description
This course introduces the fundamental principles of materials science as applied to aircraft structures, focusing on both metallic and non- metallic materials commonly used in aviation. Students examine the physical and mechanical properties of materials, including strength, hardness, elasticity, and fatigue behavior. The course also covers corrosion mechanisms, prevention techniques, and material identification methods used in maintenance environments. Emphasis is placed on understanding standard aircraft hardware such as fasteners, bearings, and locking devices, along with proper installation and removal techniques. Practical exposure is integrated through inspection activities and handling of materials and hardware components in accordance with EASA Module 6 requirements.
