This course introduces the legal and regulatory framework governing civil aviation, with emphasis on aircraft maintenance operations. It covers the roles of key aviation authorities such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), along with core regulations related to airworthiness, licensing (Part- 66), maintenance organizations (Part- 145), and continuing airworthiness. The course also addresses essential aviation safety concepts, including Safety Management Systems (SMS), human factors, risk assessment, and incident reporting. Students analyze real- world cases and regulatory requirements to develop an understanding of compliance and safe maintenance practices in accordance with EASA Module 7 standards.
