This course aims at making students aware of the complex organization and systematic nature of language, the primary means of human communication. This course is also intended to clarify ideas about human language and bring students to a better understanding of its properties. It is a survey of the many aspects of human language, including the history of language, similarities and differences among human language and animal languages, the concept of child language acquisition, the concept of learning, describing writing system and other linguistic methods used to describe and relate languages.
