This course will acquaint students with the principles and practices concerning the use of technology in foreign language education. The emphasis will be on how IT can be used to support language teaching and learning in pedagogically justifiable ways. This course aims to cover the essentials that language educators need in the field of second/foreign language education. Subject to time constraints and the interests of participants, topics will include:

theoretical issues in CALL
software evaluation
IT applications to speaking and listening skills development
IT applications to reading and writing skills development
