Course Description
This course aims at investigating the mechanisms and principles that enable (native) speakers of a language to acquire the (psychological) ability to produce and perceive their language. The first part of the course discusses the theoretical issues that relate to language acquisition. The second part discusses the language of infants in the first year, the development of the lexicon, and the acquisition of grammar (morphology and syntax).
