This is a general pharmacology module for second year nursing students. In this series of lectures, students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of Pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug metabolism, toxicology, and drug interactions. In addition, the course will introduce students to the pharmacology of the central and autonomic nervous systems. Students will also be introduced to the major drug classes that are used to treat diseases of the cardiovascular system. This course will provide an introduction to the pharmacology and clinical use of antimicrobials used in the treatment of infectious diseases. Other topics will include drugs used for pain management, bleeding disorders, endocrine, GIT and respiratory problems.
