Course Information
Line Number 914731
Course Name CHEM473A - Special Topics In Chemistry (A)
Course Description
Surface and Colloid Chemistry provides a detailed analysis of its principles and applications and demonstrates how they relate to natural phenomena and industrial processes. This course is designed to try to understand the basic principles of colloid and interface science by underlining the fundamental principles from various disciplines, such as chemistry, materials science, biological sciences and engineering. This course aims to bridge the gap between the theory behind the colloids and surface chemistry and applications in the field. This course will try to answer the following questions: Under what conditions can surfactants play a significant role in a process? How does one know when to expect surfactants to be a significant factor in some system under investigation? How and why do they work as they do?
