Students will not only learn the essentials of preparing a professional oral presentation, but they will also learn how to interact intellectually with the primary literature that they are presenting. They will be exposed to the correct way of examining the data and understand how conclusions are reached. They will be encouraged to critically examine the authors? interpretation & analysis of the findings, and thus be exposed to the thought processes of a group of scientists who authored the paper. They will learn that primary literature has compartmentalized information and thus the reading will not be a unidirectional but a multidirectional process.
