The comprehensive examination tests knowledge in general biology and in specific areas of biology namely: Biochemistry, Immunology and Molecular Biology. A department committee will draft the examination to cover materials on basic biology, cell structure and function, membrane, cell division ( mitosis and meiosis), cellular respiration, photosynthesis, basic molecular biology, basic physiology (digestive, circulatory and respiratory, and immune systems), basic botany (plant tissues), and basic zoology (animal kingdom divisions).
Students should pass the exam with a minimum of 70% grade. If the student fails the comprehensive examination, he/she will be given another chance within 6 months. If the student fail for the second time, he/she will be dismissed from the programm.
