Abstract:
Recently, emergency response (ER) organizations use public forums and social webs to collect and extract information that might be useful in crises and crucial events. There are several disadvantages of using such sources of informatin such as, the ER organizations do not have full control over the posted information and inadequate vocabularies are frequently used. This paper introduces a new system called Trusted Event Management Network (TEMN, henceforth) for collecting and extracting useful information to be delivered to the particular ER organization(s) automatically. The components of TEMN show that the collected information has been classified properly and accordingly a task is assigned to the ER organization in charge.
